Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland

CCTS’s services were in great need by a Baltimore nonprofit which provides nutritious meals, personal contact and support services to home bound individuals.
Technologically, the organization was in the dark ages. Most of the staffers were working at character-based terminals (think: black screens with green or amber letters). Many had no access to the Internet and they could not send email attachments. The IT department was overwhelmed by demands to support the ancient systems and having trouble managing time and resources.
The organization called on CCTS to help draft the blueprint they needed to identify and plan for technology improvements.
CCTS convened a cross-departmental “Tech Team” and began assessing the situation. The Tech Team provided direction and insight throughout the project. Over the course of the engagement, CCTS discovered that there was no reliable back-up system. CCTS interviewed each department, examined the internal information systems and inventoried the servers, hardware and software.
CCTS compiled the findings and presented a short-term turn around plan that addressed urgent issues and a full-scale three-year tech plan. CCTS has been further contracted to provide continued support to the organization through the implementation of the plans.
