Getting IT Together What Nonprofits Need to Know About Technology
What you dont know can hurt you—and cost a lot of money, too. Increasing internal technology expertise will not only save a nonprofit money, but time and missed opportunities as well. Because weve found that people learn best about technology when sharing experiences and lessons with peers, CCTS encourages nonprofits to come together to find out about managing key IT issues. We offer free sessions, typically lasting an hour and a half, that increase awareness of nonprofit technology resources and solutions. Or, look into our fee-based programs. They last six or more hours and build skills and organizational capacity to make technology decisions and maximize the return on IT expenditures.
If your group of six or more organizations would like to focus on technology at an upcoming gathering, we can facilitate discussions and activities that are engaging and informative. Some examples of these sessions are:
- Getting IT Under Control—You’ll get tools and tips to help your organization get in control of its technology environment
- Donor Management Software—Find out how to narrow your choices from the many fundraising applications on the market today to those that would work best in your organization
- The Nonprofit Technology Game—A fun way to think about prioritizing technology efforts in your organization
- Dynamic Websites—For organizations who are ready to trade up their “online brochure” for a website that actively engages their audiences
- Database-ics—What everyone should consider before buying or building a database
Technology Programs to Increase Organizational Effectiveness
Our in-depth workshop programs bring together groups of nonprofits, yet provide individual consultations to each participating organization. These programs provide organizational development assistance and examine goals, systems, and attitudes that impact technology use. The cost is often subsidized by local funders. Examples are:
- TechOutreach—A comprehensive program of workshops, consulting, and funding to help nonprofits use technology to improve their communications and outreach efforts.
To schedule a free session for your group or find out when registration for the next workshop program begins, contact CCTS.
