TechTuesday
The IT Factor
February 21, 2006
How does your organization handle IT Support?
At TechTuesday in February, CCTS explored tech support solutions employed by Baltimore nonprofits.
The Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance, led by Nancy Haragan, runs a 2 person do-it-yourself shop. At The Associated, Carole Madden oversees a dedicated IT staff with more than 300 computers at eight locations. Mary Slicher has in-house support at Project Plase and Craig Wiley uses a combination of volunteers and vendors to keep his systems running at the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Baltimore.
While the process for “getting IT done” varied across the organizations, the desire for solid, functional systems was universal. In addition, each organization recognized that technology was simply a tool that helped them complete their mission—not a replacement for the services they provide.
About TechTuesday
